Calculating the wine's carbon footprint is now easier.
Carbon calculator allows you to calculate in a simple and effective way all of the greenhouse gases in the wine industrial process, throughout the products’ life cycle. This tool is aimed at all stakeholders in the wine value chain, especially farmers, wineries and distribution companies.
This platform aims to: simplify the official methodology so that all users can use it internally; present the environmental impact on climate change, with a first diagnosis; be used as a starting point to initiate a strategy to emissions reduction and contribute for a sustainable business.
This is the first carbon calculator written in Portuguese, product oriented and pioneer in designing a report with the achieved results, an important differentiating factor of the tool.
Although the methodology used complies with the guiding principles of PAS 2050:2011 and ISO 14044:2010, the results don’t allow to carry out a formal verification in order to obtain a certification.
